Life as we knew it is officially over. We've got a walker! This month, SJ went from a baby to a toddler (I mean, she's still a baby, but now she toddles too). Lots of people look at me and say, "Ohhh, you're in for it! You'll be pushing down your next kid when they start walking!" But guess what? I'm glad SJ's walking! She was so mobile anyway and never wanted to be still, so now at least her clothes won't get so dirty like the would when she was crawling!
Anyway, we had lots of fun this month! Uncle Jonah came home so we made a trip to St. George for a week to hang out with him and hear him speak in church. I think he kiiiiiinda likes her.
Funny story, SJ was pretty grumpy for a week or two before we went to St. George. Jonah was playing with her and noticed two little white teeth peeking out of her upper gums! No wonder she was such a grump! As soon as those teeth came in, she became a new, much happier, baby.
On one of the evenings, we went to Bridget's performance at Tuacahn. We're a bit of a house divided when it comes to musical theater. Half of the family loves it and the other half...well...doesn't. Judging by this pic, which team do you think SJ's on?
Hahahaha we were laughing so hard. She held this face basically the entire performance, like, "What in the world are you doing up there? Do you think what you're doing is cool? No. It's not." Hilarious.
SJ may have a newfound distaste for musical theater on this trip, but she also discovered an undying love for watermelon! She was OBSESSED. She could not get enough.
She kept getting so messy that we had to send her outside naked to eat her watermelon.
Somehow, this became her "watermelon stance." She assumed this position multiple times while consuming her new favorite fruit. If you thought I could resist making this my phone's wallpaper, think again.
This was a sweet moment. SJ's a GREAT sleeper but she usually likes her space when she sleeps, so this was a rare kind of snuggle. Gosh, her cheeks are TOO delicious.
Here's SJ on the swingset with her cousins Linus and Kirby!
We had our annual Halloween party with the Jacksons and Sanders. Here's SJ with her friends Eli and Juniper.
And speaking of Halloween, I think we really hit it out of the park with our costumes this year. We pulled together our costumes from Hayden's parents' house and from Clarissa, but Snape's hair was all natural. Here we are as Professor McGonagall, Professor Snape, and Hedwig.
Look, I know the combination of characters doesn't make a lot of sense, but you've gotta work with what you have right? Plus, I'm SURE there's some fan fiction novel out there where McGonagall and Snape are in love.
SJ was OBVIOUSLY the best part of the family costume (with Hayden's hair coming in as a close second). Look how amazing those feathers are! Big thanks to Clarissa for making and holding onto this costume after Kirby wore it a few years ago.
Would you believe me if I told you this picture was taken not two weeks after the watermelon photo? I can't believe how fast and HARD winter hit this year. We had a beautiful fall, but as soon as November hit, the temperatures PLUMMETED and haven't risen above 40. We're in for a looooong winter, I think. The only thing that's going to get me through this winter is seeing this baby in her snow clothes.
I cannot handle this picture. Those teeth! Those cheeks! The hat! The boots!
Sara Jane is just getting cuter and her personality is growing every day. She's pretty much grown out of the really clingy phase and that is such a relief! She's everybody's best friend but she's MY little girl, and I'm so grateful she's mine!
